#i figured out a few years ago i just didnt like pop rap bc it was boring and had no soul#i think i phrased it as 'why should i care about your music if you sound bored af rapping it'#but never actually went looking for what i might like in the genre#picking apart kendrick and pusha's disses has been like. a religious experience#kendrick is doing 4D chess with that shit its genuinely godly levels of artistry#truly a master of his craft im just. in awe.#ive been babbling to a friend in DMs all afternoon just marveling over his wordcraft#and then i realized from the genius annotations it goes beyond the lyrics and into SOUNDPLAY#like making shit sound like other words to add yet another layer#while still being so incredibly surgical and precise with every word doing so much work as-is#bruh. godly#yelling at the void
